GoodAI + Video (slop)

𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗔𝗜 + 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼: I see how AI videos start to mimic AI writing. With more tools, videos are quickly sliding into slop territory. I built a small Google VEO app to quickly explore this further.

First I created the image of a male teenager, with aesthetics of the late 1990s. Then I gave the teenager two different and very short video prompts: one to sell skincare, one to sell fitness. The outcomes were entirely predictable. Soft, graceful gestures and happy vibes for skincare. Tank top, gym setting, and bulging muscles for fitness. See the example video on LinkedIn.

I had expected AI to take this shortcut to stereotypes. → If your prompt stays vague, the AI fills in the blanks, recycling what is most available in its training data.

But with sameness you only achieve quick recognition. Nothing stays memorable. Everything floats by. And should your video be about a product vision, an internal training or a customer-facing onboarding story, you will risk not having any impact.

→ So, remember that prompting is directing.
→ Picture what you want in your head, think of tone, framing, gestures, mood. If you don’t, the AI will.

And while the video will look professional, it won’t be original.
Professional isn’t enough. Make it yours.

Curious how others are dealing with videos that go cliché?
